Strepsils lozenges contain 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol, both antibacterial ingredients that soothe sore throats and kill the bacteria responsible for them. Additionally, these lozenges have a menthol vapour to help alleviate nasal congestion.
To take the lozenges, follow these steps:
Remove the blister pack from the cardboard carton.
Pop one lozenge from the blister pack.
Place it in your mouth and allow it to dissolve slowly.
You should avoid taking Strepsils Sore Throat lozenges if you're allergic to 2,4-dichlorobenzene alcohol, amylmetacresol or levomenthol. Individuals with intolerances to some sugar types, including sucrose-isomaltose, fructose and glucose-galactose, should also avoid lozenges.
If you've been taking Strepsils for a couple of days and your symptoms aren't improving, it's best to speak to a GP or pharmacist. While each lozenge eases sore throats and helps unblock the nose, they can't treat bacterial infections.
