Toularynx Dextromethorphan Forte 3 mg/ml | 200 ml

Toularynx Dextromethorphan Forte 3 mg/ml (200 ml) is a drug belonging to the group of cough suppressants. It is indicated in treatment of the symptoms of disturbing, dry cough in adults and children 6 years and older. Toularynx Dextromethorphan Forte contains 3 mg dextromethorphan HBr monohydrate per ml.

Directions for use

Always take this medicine exactly as stated in this leaflet or as told to you by your doctor or pharmacist. The package contains a measuring cup that can measure up to 30 ml. The bottle is sealed by a child-resistant closure.

The recommended dosage is:

• Adults: 10 ml, up to 4 times a day.
• Elderly people and those with liver or kidney dysfunction: halve the dose.
• Children 12 years and older: 10 ml, up to 4 times a day.
• Children 6 to 12 years of age: 5 ml, up to 4 times a day.

Do not administer to children under 6 years of age.

Composition

The active substance in this medicine is dextromethorphan HBr monohydrate 3 mg/ml. Other substances contained in this medicinal product include sodium saccharin – sorbitol solution 70% (E420) – methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) – propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) – propylene glycol (E1520) – peach flavoring (contains ethanol (E1510)) – sodium cyclamate – purified water.

Warnings

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Administering a cough suppressant together with a drug to facilitate coughing up phlegm is not helpful. Consult a doctor if the cough persists after 4 to 5 days. Caution is advised in the elderly, in persons with hepatic or renal dysfunction and in persons with asthma, bronchitis or emphysema. Ingestion of alcohol is not recommended during treatment.

Possible side effects

Like any medicine, this one can have side effects. Not everyone gets them. Possible side effects may include dizziness, confusion, headache, agitation, drowsiness, constipation, nausea, abdominal pain, decreased appetite.

How to store this medicine

You should keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. There are no special storage conditions for this medicine. Do not use this medicine after the expiration date. After opening, Toularynx Dextromethorphan Forte 3 mg/ml will keep for 6 months.
