Properties

URGO Filmogel® Cold sore is indicated for the protection and treatment of the lesions and symptoms of herpes labialis (cold sores). This product should be used as soon as the first symptoms appear and until the inflammation disappears completely. URGO Cold sore is a Filmogel®: at all stages of the cold sore, the product inconspicuously and effectively forms a healing protective layer that relieves stinging, itching and burning, prevents expansion of the cold sore and the formation of vesicles and crusts, promotes healing and limits infection.

How to use

• In clean skin and using the disposable spatula, apply enough product to cover the cold sore. You may experience a transient tingling or burning sensation.
• Let the product dry for about 1 to 2 minutes. The drying time depends on the amount of product applied.
• A transparent film is formed on your cold sore.
• The Filmogel® should be used at the first symptoms (tingling, itching, burning sensation), up to four times a day, to prevent the blister from breaking out.
• During the remainder of the treatment, apply the product as often as necessary, depending on the adhesion of the film to your skin and lip. You do this 2 to a maximum of 4 times a day.
• Continue treatment until the lesion is completely healed.
• URGO Filmogel® Cold sore is designed so that you can apply the product conveniently, safely and hygienically.

Recommendations

• Do not apply to cold sores caused by herpes labialis that are larger than 1 cm. In this case, seek the advice of a physician.
• Do not use in bacterial infection and/or risk of bacterial infection (impetigo).
• Do not use in immunosuppression (due to chronic disease and/or chemotherapy).
• Do not use in an attack of atopic eczema.
• In the absence of studies in pregnant or breastfeeding women, the use of the product is not recommended.
• Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist when in doubt or if you have more than six herpes attacks per year and if no improvement is visible after 7 days.
