Brufen 400 mg | 30 tablets

Brufen 400 mg contains ibuprofen, a widely used analgesic with anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing effects. It belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Indication

Brufen 400 mg is suitable for the short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain in adults and adolescents 12 years and older (≥ 40 kg), such as:

• Headache.
• Toothache.
• Menstrual pain.
• Muscle pain.
• Fever.

How to use

• Take the tablets with a glass of water, preferably on an empty stomach (unless stomach sensitivity).
• Do not chew or break; swallow the tablet whole.

Dosage

• 1 tablet (400 mg) at a time, up to 3 times a day, at intervals of 4 to 6 hours.
• Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg (3 tablets).
• Do not use Brufen 400 mg for more than 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain without medical advice.

Warnings

Do not use Brufen if:

• You are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients in this medicine, or to other anti-inflammatory drugs, including acetylsalicylic acid.
• You have previously had a hypersensitivity reaction after using other anti-inflammatory drugs, including acetylsalicylic acid (e.g., aspirin). The symptoms of such a reaction include: asthma, bronchial spasms (bronchospasms), inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes (rhinitis), hives, swelling of the skin, lips, tongue, and throat (angioedema).
• You have had bleeding or perforation of the stomach or intestines as a result of previous treatment with an anti-inflammatory drug.
• You have a certain condition that increases the tendency to bleed.
• You have or have had a stomach or intestinal disorder, such as an ulcer or bleeding. If you have severe kidney failure.

Side effects

Like any medicine, Brufen 400 mg can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. The most common side effects are related to the gastrointestinal tract, but there have also been reports of severe skin reactions, allergies and effects on the heart, liver and kidneys.

• Very common/frequent: nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, digestive upset, headache, dizziness, fatigue, heartburn, bloating.
• Frequent: insomnia, rash, itching, hives, blurred vision, tinnitus.
• Uncommon: increased blood pressure, water retention (edema), accelerated heart rate, changes in liver enzyme levels.
• Rare: stomach or intestinal bleeding, ulcers, perforations, severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis), asthma attacks, kidney problems (such as acute renal failure), hepatitis.
• Very rarely: meningitis without infection, severe allergic reactions such as angioedema and anaphylactic shock, blood abnormalities (decreased red/white blood cell or platelet counts).

Contact a doctor immediately if you experience symptoms such as blood in the stool, severe skin rash, difficulty breathing, jaundice or symptoms of kidney problems. When in doubt, always consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• Store Brufen 400 mg below 25°C in the original container.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
