Neobacitracin Skin Ointment | 20 g

Neobacitracin is an external medicine that fights infections. It contains a combination of two antibiotics, bacitracin and polymyxin sulfate B, and is used for:

• The topical treatment of infections caused by susceptible germs.
• The treatment of skin infections such as impetigo and furuncles.

How to use

• When using Neobacitracin, first clean the wound.
• Then apply a layer of ointment to the wound twice a day and, if possible, use a compress.
• If the wound does not improve after 5 days of treatment or if the situation worsens, contact your doctor.
• The maximum duration of treatment is 8 days.

Composition

Each gram of Neobacitracin contains 500 IU bacitracin and 10 000 IU polymyxin sulfate B. The other substances in this drug are: liquid kerosene and vaseline.

Warnings

Do not use Neobacitracin Skin Ointment if you are allergic to bacitracin, polymyxin or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. This medicine is not suitable for people with severely impaired kidney function.

Possible side effects

Like any medicine, Neobacitracin can have side effects. Kidney failure may occur with prolonged use or increased absorption of the drug. Allergic reactions, such as skin rashes, are rare.

How to store

Store Neobacitracin below 25°C and out of the sight and reach of children. Do not store it in the refrigerator.
