Nurofen for Children 100 mg | 24 capsules

Nurofen for Children 100 mg is used in children aged 7 to 12 years who weigh 20 to 40 kg to relieve mild to moderate pain. Nurofen for Children 100 mg also lowers fever. The active ingredient is ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) pain reliever.

Directions for use

Always use this medicine exactly as directed. Oral use: chew and swallow capsules without water. Use this medicine for a short period of time and at the lowest effective dose. Do not use in children under 7 years of age or <20 kg.

Dosage in children

• Body weight 20-29 kg (7-9 years): One dose 200 mg (2 capsules), Maximum daily dose 600 mg (6 capsules).
• Body weight 30-40 kg (10-12 years): One dose 300 mg (3 capsules), Maximum daily dose 900 mg (9 capsules).

Interval between intakes: at least 6 hours. Maximum daily dose: 30 mg/kg body weight. Do not exceed the dose. If used for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen you should consult your doctor.

Composition

The active substance in this medicine is ibuprofen. Each chewing capsule contains 100 mg ibuprofen, The other substances in this medicine are: gelatin, purified water, liquid glucose, sucrose, fumaric acid (E297), sucralose, citric acid (E330), acesulfame K (E950), disodium deetate, glycerol, orange flavor, red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172), titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol and HPMC 2910/hypromellose 3cP.

Warnings

Do not use in case of allergy to ibuprofen, peanuts, soy or any of the excipients. Do not use in case of previous hypersensitivity after use of acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs (such as asthma, runny nose, rash, swelling of face or throat). Do not use in active or recurrent gastrointestinal ulcer or bleeding (≥2 episodes). Do not use in severe heart, kidney or liver failure, in active bleeding or cerebral hemorrhage, in disorders of blood formation, in severe dehydration (due to vomiting, diarrhea or insufficient drinking) and during the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Possible side effects

Like any medicine, Nurofen for Children 100 mg can cause side effects, but not everyone gets them. Always use the lowest effective dose as short as possible. Stop administration immediately and seek medical attention in case of severe gastrointestinal bleeding (blood in vomit or black stool) or severe allergic reaction (wheezing, swelling of face or throat, shock).

Store below 25 °C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiration date.
