Otrivine Nasal Congestion | 10 ml

Otrivine Against Nasal Congestion is a fast-acting nasal spray based on xylometazoline hydrochloride. It relieves nasal congestion within 2 minutes and works for up to 10 hours. The added excipients such as sorbitol and methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose help prevent dehydration of the nasal mucosa.

This nasal spray is suitable for adults and adolescents 12 years and older and provides an effective solution for temporary nasal congestion due to:

• Colds.
• Hay fever.
• Sinusitis.
• Middle ear infections.

How to use

• Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: 1 spray per nostril, up to 3 times a day.
• At least 8 hours between applications.
• Do not use for more than 5 consecutive days.
• Last administration preferably at bedtime.

For first use: pump 4 times for activation. Clean nosepiece after use. Use by only one person to avoid contamination.

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
• Do not use during pregnancy.
• Use only during breastfeeding on doctor’s advice.
• Do not combine with MAO inhibitors or certain antidepressants.
• Do not use in certain eye conditions, dry nasal mucous membranes or hypersensitivity.

Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Otrivine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Possible side effects include:

• Common: dry nose, burning sensation, nausea, headache.
• Uncommon: nosebleed, insomnia, increased blood pressure.
• Rare: allergic reactions, cardiac arrhythmias.

Composition

• Active substance: xylometazoline hydrochloride (1 mg/ml).
• Excipients: sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, sodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, sorbitol (70%), methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose, purified water.

Storage

• Vertical pump: store below 30°C.
• Lateral pump: store below 25°C.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiration date (EXP).
