Xylocaine 10% Spray is a local anesthetic based on lidocaine and is indicated in adults and children from the age of 2 years:
- In all cases where rapid and effective anesthesia of the mucous membranes is required, especially in anesthesia (e.g., for intubation).
- In throat-nose-ear surgery.
- In obstetrics.
- In oral surgery.
- In traumatology.
Instructions for use
After removing the plastic protective cap and attaching the spout to the valve, Xylocaine 10% is ready for use. With each press on the valve, an identical, precisely dosed amount of solution containing 10 mg lidocaine base is atomized. The number of atomizations depends on the size of the area to be anesthetized. Each vial contains enough solution for approximately 500 atomizations.

Possible side effects
Side effects of Xylocaine 10% are rare and in most cases are due to excessive dosage or too rapid absorption:
- Central nervous system: stimulation and/or depression, characterized by: nervousness, dizziness, visual disturbances and tremors, followed by drowsiness, convulsions, loss of consciousness and in some cases respiratory arrest.
- Cardiovascular system: low blood pressure, suppression of heart muscle, slowed heart rate and in certain cases cardiac arrest. The main risk groups are highly sensitive individuals, patients with impaired liver function, with blood acidosis (acidosis) and with epilepsy.
- In rare cases (in less than 1 in 1,000 patients), reactions may be seen due to hypersensitivity, congenital hypersensitivity or impaired tolerance in the patient.
- In rare cases (in less than 1 in 1000 patients), the use of local anesthetics leads to allergic reactions such as rash, hives and fluid accumulation (edema) (in the most severe cases progressing to a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock)).
- With intubation, cases of reversible throat irritation, hoarseness and loss of voice were reported.
