Nasa Rhinathiol 0.1% | 10 ml

Nasa Rhinathiol 0.1% is a nasal decongestant based on xylometazoline hydrochloride. It is a preparation for topical application (along the nose) that reduces the swelling of the nasal mucosa, allowing you to breathe more freely again. Nasa Rhinathiol can be used for the symptomatic treatment of a blocked nose. This can be caused by:

• A cold.
• Vasomotor rhinitis (in which the nasal mucosa reacts hypersensitively to numerous non-specific stimuli).
• Allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever)
• Sinusitis.

How to use

• It is recommended to first rinse the nose with saline solution before using Nasa Rhinathiol.
• Adults can use a maximum of 1 to 2 sprays per nostril, 2 to a maximum of 3 times a day.
• For children older than 6 years, the recommended dosage is up to 1 nebulizer per nostril, 1 to up to 2 times a day.

Composition

The active substance in Nasa Rhinathiol is xylometazoline. It is present in the form of xylometazoline hydrochloride. One spray (approximately 70 microliters) corresponds to approximately 70 micrograms of xylometazoline hydrochloride. The other ingredients in Nasa Rhinathiol 0.1% are monopotassium phosphate, sodium chloride, disodium phosphate dihydrate, polysorbate 20, disodium edetate, eucalyptol, neroli oil, benzalkonium chloride, and purified water.

Warnings

Nasa Rhinathiol should not be used for more than 5 consecutive days unless otherwise advised by a physician. It is not suitable for children under 6 years of age or for people who are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine. In addition, you should be careful when using this medicine if you are taking anti-depression drugs or have certain health problems.

Possible side effects

Like any medicine, Nasa Rhinathiol can have side effects. Possible side effects include nausea, headache, insomnia, increased blood pressure, palpitations, allergic reactions, rapid heartbeat and nosebleed. If you experience any of these side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

How to store this medicine

Store this medicine out of the sight and reach of children, at a temperature below 30°C. Do not use it after the expiration date found on the label/packaging/bottle.
